Hiltl, Switzerland
Founded in 1898 by Ambrosius Hiltl, the house of Hiltl in Zurich is the oldest vegetarian restaurant in the world (according to the Guinness Book of Records) and the leading establishment of its kind (Hiltl’s own claim). Today, the company is run by the fourth generation of the Hiltl family and is known far beyond the Zurich city limits and the borders of Switzerland. At several locations in Zurich, Hiltl offers premium à la carte dishes, innovative buffets, food to go, catering and the «Hiltl Vegimetzg», the fist vegetarian «butcher shop» in Switzerland.
